Rafters take Tuesday for Seven but Hot Seat edges closer to Deal

Seven’s ratings ownership of Tuesday night continued yesterday thanks to a strong performance by Packed to the Rafters while Nine’s Hot Seat edged closer to rival Deal or No Deal at 5:30.

While the Rafter family were the most watched entertainment programme last night, the audience was slightly down and the lowest in more than a month with just short of 1.7 million, according to preliminary results from OzTam.

Seven’s RSPCA Animal Rescue at 7:30 was ahead of Nine’s 20 to 1 with 1.4 million and 1.2 respectively. Meanwhile the fourth episode of Ten’s Spearman Experiment at the same time dropped to its lowest audience so far, with only 668,000. The programme has averaged an audience of 793,000 with its launch episode pulling in its highest ratings of just over 1 million.

Earlier in the evening, Eddie McGuire edged closer to stealing the game show crown from Andrew O’Keefe as Nine’s Hot Seat got within 10,000 (631,000) of Seven’s Deal or No Deal (641,000). The last time Nine won the 5:30 timeslot was August 21.
