Reborn launches media network, hires ex-Fairfax salesman Dave Wright to run it

Reborn, the digital media and marketing agency formed from the merger of Lighthouse Interactive and the V Project in March, has appointed Dave Wright from Fairfax Digital as director of its newly launched network of lifestyle websites.

The network, called Lifestyle Media Group, starts out with Rescu.com.au as the foundation site with discussions underway to bring in three more sites by the end of the year.

The launch means that Reborn’s media buying operation will be outsourced through larger media buyers, with partnerships with two agencies now being ironed out.

Wright, who has experience in media buying as well as publishing, joins from digital agency Mindbox with a brief to secure network partners and package digital advertising.

“Lifestyle Media Group will be able to fill a gap in the market for beyond the banner opportunities for advertisers and buck the trend of low CPM yields for site partners”, said Wright.

Wright worked for Fairfax Digital for a seven-year spell as state sales manager, group sales manager and account manager, and has worked at a number of boutique digital shops.

Reborn, which is now up to 28 staff, has plans to open an office in Melbourne as well as Hong Kong.

“We’re taking one thing at a time. Our first priority was to grow our media operation, which is now looking good with Dave on board,” said Sabir Samtani, the agency’s co-founder & managing director.
