Reborn wins L’Oreal from McCann after four-way pitch

Reborn has emerged the winner after a four-way pitch for the digital account of L’Oreal.

The agency saw off the challenge of incumbent McCann, Visual Jazz and DTDigital to land the account.

The win is a big step forward for Reborn, which was formed after a merger almost a year ago.

The announcement:

L’Oréal Paris has appointed independently owned REBORN as its exclusive digital agency – after a competitive four
way pitch involving Visual Jazz, DT Digital and incumbent McCann.

As a result of this major win, REBORN has now opened a second office in Melbourne to service the roll out of L’Oréal
Paris’ digital activity, including a 360 degree strategic vision covering campaigns, social, CRM and initiatives such as
the L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival and Cannes Film Festival.

Natalie Motta, L’Oréal Paris’ Digital Manager said, “We are delighted to appoint REBORN as our national digital
agency of record. They demonstrated a clear understanding of our business problems and objectives with a fresh
and passionate approach. It was clear from the outset that they really took a deep dive into understanding the
brand and our consumers. Their response demonstrated a sound strategic vision that integrated across multiple
touchpoints on and offline to create meaningful brand experiences. Their attention to detail, creative vision and
content strategy were truly intelligent and beautiful. Our Marketing team is very excited to be working with REBORN
Melbourne to evolve and execute the strategies presented for 2012 and beyond.”

Having already launched a successful first campaign for the year as part of L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival, Co-
founder and Managing Director of REBORN, Sabir Samtani said: “We see L’Oréal Paris as leaders in the beauty space
when it comes to forward thinking digital strategy and its commitment to innovation, which is really exciting for
us. The pitch involved a great mix of strategy and ideas that look to merge the digital and physical worlds together
through participation, engagement and curation. We are excited that they chose us to bring this to life. It is a dream
client for us and a great start for the agency for 2012.”

A major win for REBORN, Samtani will now head up the new office in Melbourne and establish a team of ten over
the next few months to complement a team of 32 in Sydney. REBORN will also be on the lookout for additional
Melbourne based clients as part of its expansion plans.
