Talking about you, not to you

Last week marketing consultant Darren Woolley got into quite a stoush with the marketing body the Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA) after accusing it of a conflict of interest because it allows media agencies to be members.

Woolley, the boss of consultancy TrinityP3, continued the brawl yesterday in the comment thread on AdNews when he got a surprise email from the CEO of the media agency industry body the Media Federation of Australia (MFA), Sophie Madden.

Dr Mumbo assumes this was a case of typing the name of the person you’re talking about, not to, in the ‘To’ field given the subject line is: “he’s at it again”. Woolley

Just in case the email didn’t make it to its intended destination the well-connected Woolley helpfully shared the faux pas on LinkedIn, so hopefully whoever it was destined for got to see it.
