Red Agency appoints former PRIA president Terri-Helen Gaynor as head of government

PR, social and experiential agency Red Agency has appointed former Public Relations Institute of Australia president Terri-Helen Gaynor to the role of head of government.

Gaynor joins Red Agency from Reputation Asia Pacific, where she was managing director of Asia Pacific for almost two years.

Prior to that, she was president and CEO of Burson-Marsteller APAC.

Gaynor was also national president of PRIA for two years.

In her new role Gaynor will report directly to Red Agency’s Sydney principal, Jackie Crossman, and will work on campaigns involving the Havas Village model where needed.

Red Agency CEO and Havas Creative Group COO, James Wright, said Gaynor was an outstanding candidate.

“Red Agency is renowned for developing and executing award-winning campaigns for clients across a wide range of sectors from consumer, business-to-business marketing and technology, to corporate and healthcare and now we are expanding and adding more firepower to our rapidly growing government practice,” Wright said.

“It’s the right time for us to develop our government offer further with the best-quality offering to deliver exceptional value to our clients. As a national appointment, we will be expanding our services to governments across Australia and boosting government relations in our arsenal for consumer and corporate clients.”

Gaynor said she was excited to join the team and expand its government offering.

“We will continue to strive to be leaders in this field with our truly integrated approach to planning, analytics and creative in a methodology that delivers total channel engagement from stakeholder engagement, digital and social expertise to mobile, owned, earned and paid media and experiential execution to deliver significant outcomes for government and corporate clients,” she said.

Red’s government experience includes the federal departments of Agriculture and Water Resources, Communications and the Arts, Education, Finance, Infrastructure and Regional Development, Foreign Affairs and Trade, Health, Industry Innovation and Science, as well as work with various state governments including NSW and Victoria and overseas governments including Malaysia, Hong Kong and Mexico.
