Red Havas appointed to global comms account for me&u

At-table ordering platform me&u has appointed Red Havas as its global communications agency, set to manage an international communications program including consumer, trade, and brand building across three continents.

The agency won the account as part of a competitive pitch process that was truncated when Red Havas was appointed on the strength of its ideas and synergy with the brand following tissue and chemistry sessions before formal presentations.

The agency’s remit will include PR services and media relations across B2B and B2C in Australia, the UK and USA to drive brand fame in the category, assert me&u as the global leader of at-table ordering innovation, and showcase the brand’s ongoing commitment as an ally to the hospitality industry.

Newly appointed CEO me&u Katrina Barry said, “We have experienced significant growth with me&u’s team having doubled over the last year alone. We’ve expanded our presence across global markets, tripled usage amongst consumers and are partnering with the largest and best hospitality groups with over 80% market share of Australia’s top pub groups to improve guest experiences and help them operate smarter.”

“We have created an exceptional product, and we are now focused on scaling our business and achieving our global ambitions with the company on track to achieve an annualised total transaction value of US $1 billion by year’s end. Red Havas is an impressive team, an agency with a global footprint and experience in both the corporate and consumer comms space.

“Their first response hit the mark and there were real synergies with their strategic and creative thinking and me&u’s vision – so much so that we awarded them the business and moved straight into execution. We look forward to working with Red Havas to shake up the hospitality industry in a meaningful way.”

“Once in a while, a client comes along with an opportunity that truly excites you. me&u is a game-changer for the hospitality industry, born out of a need to bring much-needed disruption to the sector,” said Alex Bryant, executive director, Sydney PR Red Havas.

“The brand is building a better future for hospitality to inspire extraordinary memories and we are excited to tell that story in a meaningful way, cementing me&u as the category leader and hospitality innovator.”

Last month Red Havas launched a new corporate affairs offering, and appointed 20-year industry veteran Matt Thomas as executive director – corporate affairs.
