Red Rooster launched retro merch to celebrate 50th birthday
Red Rooster has launched retro merch ahead of its 50th birthday celebration.
The announcement:
In 2022 Red Rooster (Reds) celebrates 50 Years of satisfying Australia’s chicken cravings. We are proudly and fondly looking back (and ahead) at the moments that have shaped and transformed the Reds brand into Australia’s favourite chicken shop.
We were ‘Red Red Ready’ back in 1972 when Peter Kailis opened the first Reds in Kelmscott, Perth pioneering the chicken takeaway. Fast forward five decades and Red Rooster is an iconic Aussie born and bred chicken brand and the only fast-food company in Australia that now truly specialises in both roast and fried chicken.
We’re painting the town Red (see what we did there?) and marking 50 Years of Reds with celebrations across all 360+ Red Rooster restaurants Australia-wide and via various exciting initiatives including:
Red Red Ready limited edition retro merch collection:
In celebration of 50 Years of Red Rooster we have designed a limited edition capsule merch and apparel collection featuring the infamous Reds tagline Red Red Ready and rooster logo of yesteryear. The full collection includes t-shirts and kids’ items, awesome headwear, drinkware and a very cool neon sign. The Red Red Ready retro collection will be available to purchase for a limited time only on Reds Shop from Monday 22 August.
All profits from the shop go to charity.
Over the last 50 years Red Rooster has served hundreds of millions of customers and employed hundreds of thousands of people (many in their first job) as well as giving thousands of Aussies the opportunity to become business owners as Red Rooster Franchise Partners.
Red Rooster CEO Clint Ault has stated: “In 2022 the Red Rooster that Aussies know and love is going through an epic transformation – new food, new restaurants, new everything- but the brand will always have a special place in the hearts of Australians, regardless of their age or location. We are proud of our history and the role the brand has played in shaping the food landscape and culture of this country for decades. We don’t take this position and reputation lightly and we are excited and even more proud of where Red Rooster is headed in the future.”
