Relaunch on cards for CarsGuide as Richard Blackburn named as new editor

CarsGuide has appointed experienced car industry journalist Richard Blackburn as its new editor

The announcement:

Richard Blackburn is the new editor of CarsGuide – Australia’s No1 motoring liftout.

Richard will oversee a relaunch of the popular auto section with a new content strategy across print and online.

CarsGuide is published across News Corp mastheads including the Herald Sun, Daily Telegraph, Courier Mail, The Advertiser, The Mercury, NT News, Geelong Advertiser, Gold Coast Bulletin, Townsville Bulletin, Cairns Post and all of its local mastheads.

Richard has been reporting on and working in the car industry for 18 years.

He is a former senior public relations consultant for Ford and Toyota, devising PR strategies and developing car launch programs.

Richard also spent some time working as a motoring writer at Fairfax and was editor of drive. com.au

His editorship at CarsGuide will see Richard return to News Corp where he started his journalism career as a reporter on The Australian including a time as Aviation Editor for the national masthead.

Richard begins his new role in November.
