Res Publica’s Kristy Meudell joins Destination NSW as director of PR

Kristy Meudell has departed Res Publica as its head of consumer PR to join Destination NSW as its director of PR and visiting media.

Meudell was the head of consumer PR at Res Publica for just over a year after joining the agency from Gate 7 where she was an account director for Visit California.

Destination NSW has hired Medudell after Allison Lee departed after three years in the role.

Lee joined Destination NSW in 2015 following a temporary five-month stint as the publicist for Children’s Festival of Moving Stories.

Early last year Destination NSW announced it was seeking a general manager of marketing following the departure of Anthony Laver.

In a statement to Mumbrella, Meudell said: “I am very excited to be leading an excellent team of PR professionals at Destination NSW to continue to develop innovative programs which promote the many stories and experiences of the great state of NSW to Australia and the world.”

Destination NSW CEO, Sandra Chipchase, added: “We are delighted to welcome Kristy to the team. She brings a wealth of experience from her early days in journalism through to her more recent senior roles in agency.

“Kristy will lead a talented team of publicity professionals responsible for hosting key journalists and securing great media coverage for our State.”

Res Publica has been approached for comment.
