Richard Hunwick promoted to director of sales television

Nine Entertainment Co has promoted Richard Hunwick to director of sales television.

The announcement:

Richard HunwickNine Entertainment Co. announced today that Richard Hunwick will become the Director of Sales Television.

Hunwick will relocate to Sydney from his position in Brisbane where he has been the Brisbane Sales Director for the Nine Entertainment Co. for the last five years.

Michael Stephenson, Nine Entertainment Co.’s Chief Sales Officer, said: “Richard’s knowledge and instinct for television is incredible and infectious. Richard has been one of the best performing Sales Directors in the country consistently for the past 10 years. He has delivered outstanding results in the Brisbane market. He now has the opportunity to lead the commercialisation of our television product in a world where television is being redefined.”

“At the same time, his understanding of the role of Digital and how digital compliments Television will be invaluable for our new digital leaders as we increase our focus in this area.

Richard Hunwick has been leading the sales team at Nine in Brisbane since late 2010, where he was the first sales director at NEC to fully integrate both the digital and broadcast sales teams. Previously he was a general manager of sales at Network Ten and a director at Mitchell Media in Brisbane.

Richard Hunwick said: “These are exciting times for television as we see the convergence of the broadcast and digital delivery models, the questions of media reform, and an increasing demand for accountability and addressability from our customers.

“With change comes opportunity, and in my opinion NEC is best placed to take advantage of that opportunity. I am privileged to step up and lead an incredible group of passionate people around the country into the future and I’d like to thank Michael for the opportunity.”

Richard Hunwick’s appointment is effective from today, March 16, 2016.
