Richard Webb moves on from the Blue Freeway disaster
The man behind one of the most spectacular digital meltdowns of the year is to explode back onto the Australian scene, it was revealed today.
Richard Webb, who built Blue Freeway into an acquisition-fuelled behemoth before being ousted following a dramatic collapse in the share price, is to unveil a string of new projects, says Digital Media magazine.
As well as joining the board of Effective Measure, which promotes the measurement of effectiveness of digital platforms, he has also set up ASOC8, a US-incorporated firm focusing on tagging. He has also become chairman of ad showcase website The Inspiration Room.
And his fourth project is Mesh Bay, a “new aggregation platform for disparate digital marketing services allowing the seamless mix and match of services to meet the advertiser / agency needs for optimised execution”. One of the issues that led to his downfall with Blue Freeway was the creation – and expensive global promotion – of Blu, a digital dashboard for marketers. Mesh Bay sounds like it may be a similar concept.
Oh dear….more $$$ are likely to be burned.

has anyone tried to register for Mesh Way yet? The sign up form is broken! I cannot belive the amount of money that gets burned by these organisations and they can’t even do a bit of testing before going live…this looks like a repeat of blu!
