RnB Fridays celebrates 10th anniversary; Craig David guest hosts

The Hit Network’s RnB Fridays is turning 10, and to celebrate, singer Craig David will guest host the program for 10 weeks.

The announcement:

Across 10 weeks, RnB Fridays is turning up the volume for its 10th anniversary! To mark the milestone, iconic RnB superstar and RnB Fridayz Live performer Craig David will take over the airwaves as a guest host. For 10 weeks straight, starting today, Craig will bring his signature style and legendary energy to the Hit Network, hosting from 12 PM to 3 PM.

From its humble beginnings in Adelaide, where RnB Fridays was first broadcast, the fan-favourite brand has become an iconic and much-loved fixture of the Hit Network, with a dedicated DAB station launching in 2018 as well as regular RnB Fridays Club Nights around the country.

In 2016, RnB Fridayz Live was born, in partnership with Frontier Touring, bringing the iconic Hit Network feature to life in stadiums around Australia. The first concert in 2016 featured Nelly, TLC and Blu Cantrell, among others, touring Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Over the years, RnB Fridays has featured many guest hosts including Usher, Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Rowland and Jason Derulo, and is now listened to by over two million Australians each week.

RnB Fridays guest host, Craig David said: “RnB Fridays and I have grown together, and I am thrilled to have been asked to celebrate with them their 10th Anniversary since launching and be a special guest host. They have supported me since their start and continue to do so with the release of my new singles and album this year. I look forward to continuing listening to the iconic tunes playlisted, I love you RnB Fridays and Australia!”

Head of hit metro content, Amanda Lee said: “Craig David has been a staple of RnB Fridays since its inception, which makes him the perfect guest host across the next 10 weeks to celebrate 10 years of this iconic music institution. RnB Fridays is not only a part of the DNA of the Hit Network, but also the lives of so many of our listeners, from their workday, to their nights out. Here’s to the next 10 years of RnB Fridays.”
