Rowland promotes Scott Jenson to chief operating officer

Strategic comms agency Rowland has appointed Scott Jenson as chief operating officer, after nearly two-and-a-half years with the agency.

Jenson joined Rowland in early 2023 as its chief commercial officer with more than 20 years’ experience in commercial operations and business strategy.

He had previously worked at Nova Entertainment, Citigroup, Brand Advantage, and Melbourne Racing Club, leading sales and marketing, strategy, and advisory services.

As the new chief operating officer, he will lead Rowland’s day-to-day operations, supporting client service delivery and overseeing commercial performance and strategic development. It comes as the firm continues to expand its integrated offering and grow its footprint nationally and globally.

“I’m really fortunate to take on this role at such an important moment in Rowland’s evolution,” he said in a release.

“The firm has a clear vision, a strong leadership team, and a talented group of professionals delivering outstanding results. I look forward to supporting Rowland as it continues to scale its impact and capabilities.”

Headquartered in Brisbane, Rowland has a team of over 70 professionals working across corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, brand, creative, and digital services. According to the release, the agency has had strong momentum recently, following “sustained growth and diversification” across its practices.

Chairman Geoff Rodgers said Jenson’s appointment reinforced Rowland’s commitment to innovation, quality, and scale.

“Rowland has built a reputation as one of Australia’s leading strategic communication agencies, and we are continuing to evolve to meet the changing needs of our clients and the market,” he said in the release.

“Scott’s deep expertise in commercial leadership and strategic thinking makes him the ideal choice to help guide the next chapter of our journey.”

Jenson will work closely with the rest of Rowland’s executive leadership team to “enhance service integration and agility”, aiming to strengthen the agency’s client partnerships and innovation.
