Salesforce appoints Icon Agency to handle Australian comms

Cloud-based software company, Salesforce, has selected independent public relations firm, Icon Agency, to handle its Australian communications program.

“We’re thrilled to work with a value-led business, dedicated to trust, customer success, innovation, equality and sustainability. It’s a time of tremendous change and we need more innovators and change-makers to navigate significant headwinds,” said Icon Agency managing director, Joanne Painter.

“As a trusted digital adviser, Salesforce is perfectly placed to support the evolution of businesses to a more resilient, prosperous, and sustainable future. Salesforce is an ideal fit for Icon’s brand platform, ‘For people, with purpose.”

The new agency platform was launched earlier this year, in celebration of Icon’s 20th birthday, with the agency attributing its purpose-driven ethos to its strong growth trajectory over the past two years, with revenue and staff numbers more than doubling.

This period of expansion has included last week’s appointment of executive director of digital, Simon Hobbs, join fellow recent appointments, Gabrielle Gray as managing director and Hamish Fitzsimmons as director of strategic advisory and public affairs.

Salesforce joins Icon’s expanding roster of global technology brands including ADP, Schneider Electric and Luno.

“We continue to cement our expertise in the tech sector to complement our existing strengths in healthcare, education and government,” said Painter.

“Purpose is not just a lofty ideal. We’re committed to work that makes the world better, enabling us to rapidly expand whilst producing award-winning work. The results are clear: purposeful work works.”
