Eagle’s team has a remit to bring customers to the forefront of the business, with the focus on stronger engagement with retail partners, developing subscription channels and broadened consumer marketing strategy.

Eagle, who has been with Are Media (formerly Bauer Media) since 2010 across a number of senior roles, told Mumbrella the strength of the Are Media’s magazine brands and the legacy they have created shouldn’t be underestimated.

“I grew up in country NSW reading magazines, and my passion for this media has been engraved in me from an early age. Magazines are a form of escapism for so many women across the country and I am excited to work alongside our retail partners to continue to deliver the magazines that consumers love.

“Our newly created customer team will lead the way in developing and building on our relationships. 2021 will be a big year for Are Media’s brands and the customer will be at the forefront of every discussion.”

The new customer division will also oversee retail, subscription and consumer marketing which are being brought together in a more aligned approach, Are Media revealed in the announcement.

CEO Brendon Hill said building the new team is a sign that Are Media is renewing its focus on customers as a priority.

“While we have strong relationships with our retail partners, more can always be done to understand their priorities and identify new opportunities that will benefit us both. By creating a dedicated team to focus on our customers we are signalling this as a priority area for the business.”

Eagle’s previous responsibilities in her role as GM of the food category will now be re-aligned under executive general manager, publishing and digital, Sarah-Belle Murphy.

Are Media recently announced at its upfronts that 2021 would see the company have a “tenacious” focus on women, food, homes, beauty and entertainment.
