Sally Patten appointed AFR Boss editor

Sally Patten has been appointed the new editor of The Australian Financial Review’s Boss Magazine.

Patten is currently the personal finance editor of The Australian Financial Review, a role which she has held for almost two years.

Patten previously oversaw all personal finance publications for Fairfax Media, including Money, Smart Investor and Smart Investor Weekend.

She was also previously associate editor of the AFR and financial services editor.

Patten replaces Joanne Gray, who was recently promoted to the role of managing editor at the AFR after five years as AFR Boss editor.

In an internal note to staff, AFR editor in chief Michael Stutchbury and editor Paul Bailey said Patten will commence her new role in April.

“We are delighted to announce that Sally Patten has been appointed Editor of Boss, The Australian Financial Review’s monthly leadership and strategy magazine. She will replace Joanne Gray as Jo moves into her new role as managing editor.”
