Samson & Delilah prepares US debut
US distributor IndiePix is preparing the American debut for Warwick Thornton’s Samson & Delilah, opening in New York, Los Angeles and Washington DC on October 15.
The marketing strategy will focus on “a local and national network of strategic partnerships and buzz created through theatrical exhibition and special events”, according to IndiePix.
The film’s promotional materials emphasise the film’s successful international run and the awards it has won.
IndiePix’s plan is to begin the season with week-long engagements in more than 20 markets, including premiere events and Australian-themed parties. The distributor wants to build a national awareness to potentially expand to more than 100 markets, prior to the DVD release in December.
A new website has already been launched for the US market.
