Samson & Delilah to screen in Miami
Warwick Thornton’s film Samson & Delilah will have its US east coast premiere this weekend, as part of the Miami International Film Festival’s Cinema 360°.
The film also added a new territory last Friday, when it opened in South Africa. The release will be followed by the Netherlands and the United Kingdom in April.Although Samson & Delilah does not have an American distributor, it has been well-received by festival audiences and critics. The organisers of the Miami festival described it as an “immensely memorable aboriginal love story”, and The Miami Herald regretted that it is “the sort of film unlikely to reappear on local screens after its festival showings.”
