Samsung Australia’s chief marketer Arno Lenior departs after three years
One of Australia’s more high profile marketers Arno Lenior is to depart Samsung with the company to review its marketing team.
Lenior has been Samsung’s chief marketer for the last three years helping it win market share in Australia against the marketing might of incumbent Apple.
“To be afforded the opportunity to be the chief marketing officer of one of the world’s most enviable brands is a real privilege,” said Lenior. “My ambition was to continue to build the brand by delivering world-class campaigns and I am confident that this has been achieved.”
Among the product launches in Australia he led were LifeLIVE, SlideLiner, S-Drive and the Galaxy S5 Made for Australia campaign.
Lenior efforts have seen marketing campaigns such as the time it put consumer’s phone images on the sails of the Sydney Opera House or the Roy and HG alternative rugby commentary.
“On a personal front, I am very excited for what the future holds for me,” he added. “The past three years have been particularly rewarding and I am lucky to have led such a committed and talented group of people.
“The external industry awards and the internal global best practice results are things that I’m proud of and will fondly remember.”
No replacement has been named with Samsung saying it is currently reviewing its senior marketing leadership needs.
