Sarah Campbell moves into role as executive director at AMSRO

Former communications manager for The Australian Sarah Campbell has commenced her role as the executive director at the Association of Market and Social Research Organisations.   

The Association of Market and Social Research Organisations (AMSRO) announced today that Sarah Campbell has commenced in the position of Executive Director.

Martin O’Shannessy, President, AMSRO said, “We are delighted to have Sarah join AMSRO and look forward to working with her to promote the industry and maximise member benefits. Quality assured market and social research plays a vital role in both private and public organisations, driving key decisions which ultimately affect public policy, programs and business strategies. I believe Sarah’s appointment will effectively support the industry and help deliver our message to the wider community.”

A communications specialist, Sarah brings to the role over 15 years of experience in public relations and corporate communications across newspapers, free-to-air and subscription television, magazine publishing, teaching and non-government organisations.

“AMSRO provides a unified voice for the research industry,” said Sarah Campbell. “The organisation represents over 90 Australian member companies who are leaders in their field, which means they are committed to conducting quality research and providing clients with accurate information. AMSRO members make a valuable contribution to public policy and commercial decision making and I’m pleased to have the opportunity to support that.”

Prior to joining AMSRO Sarah worked for The Australian newspaper (News Limited) as Communications Manager, overseeing trade and consumer PR, events, commercial and corporate social responsibility (CSR) and media partnerships with corporate, government and industry bodies. Before working at News Limited, Sarah was Communications Director at Nickelodeon Australia where she managed publicity and corporate communications for the broadcaster.

Mr O’Shannessy thanked outgoing Executive Director, Jane Gregory for effectively helping steer the organisation and industry through a number of structural changes, including the formation and launch of the Research Industry Council of Australia (RICA).
