Saturday TV ratings: Seven does the double in Perth

The Seven Network did an unusual double in Perth on Saturday, with two of its channels in the top two commercial slots.

7Mate was the top commercial channel in Perth with a metro audience share of 14.2%, while the main Seven channel had a share of 13.1%.

7Mate’s big share was driven by the airing of the West Coast Eagles versus St Kilda AFL game. The game attracted 120,000 Perth viewers to 7Mate. A further 40,000 watched it on Fox Sports.

Nine’s share of the Perth audience was just 8% while Ten took 6.8%.

However, the most watched channel in Perth overall was the non-commercial player, with ABC taking a share of 15.7%.

The Saturday AFL match of Brisbane versus Essendon brought Seven 288,000 viewers in Melbourne and 81,000 in Adelaide. A further 64,000 watched on Seven affiliates in regional Victoria and 35,000 in Tasmania. it total, Seven’s national audience for the game was 468,000.
