SBS to launch second TV channel tonight

SBS’s new digital TV channel, SBS2, launches at 6pm tonight.

The relatively low key first evening will see animated short Harvie Krumpet as the first show, a simulcast with SBS1 of World News Australia, followed by German drama series 112 Emergency.

I was hoping to see quite a lot of new content on SBS2 but after the paltry funding raise they got in the federal budget this looks unlikely

Realistically SBS2 will be mostly world news + spillover + repeats
