SBS1 finishes ahead of Ten in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth
SBS1 finished ahead of Ten in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth on Friday.
According to OzTAM the rare victory in share of the 6pm to midnight free to air audience, was most pronounced in Perth where SBS1 took a share of 6.2 per cent to Ten’s 5.3 per cent. In Melbourne the gap was 7.4 per cent to 7.3 per cent; In Adelaide it was 6.7 per cent to 6.6 per cent, with both being beaten by Nine’s digital channel Go (7.0 per cent).
However, Ten fared slightly better in Sydney and Brisbane, giving it a national share of 7.1 per cent, just ahead of SBS1’s 6.5 per cent.
ABC1 had a share of 15.3 per cent while Seven (20.7 per cent) finished with its nose ahead of Nine (20.5 per cent).
Meanwhile, Seven won the week, as measured from Sunday to Saturday. It had a share of 21.4 per ent to Nine’s 17.7 per vent, ABC1’s 14.6 per cent, Ten’s 13.1 per cent and SBS1’s 4.9 per cent.
Article is missing a key piece of information – in Melbourne, Ten played a 3-hour ep of American Idol from 7.30-10.30pm – surely the low rating is not a surprise? I wouldn’t expect Aussie viewers to tune in to any show for that long.
Terrible programming by Ten. I thought they’d sent someone in to fix all this??
