Season two of Emergency returns to Nine on May 24

The second season of Emergency, an in-depth look at the Royal Melbourne Hospital’s Emergency Department, will premiere on Nine today at 9:00pm.

The show will continue to look at the frontline of one of Australia’s busiest hospitals, diving into the lives of doctors and nurses, with Nine getting unprecedented access to the inner workings of the hospital.

Nine revealed that old favourites will return, including Dr Mya and husband Dr Bjorn, Dr Jonathan, Dr Emma, and doctors Sarah, Michael, and Michelle.

They’ll also be joined by new faces: Dr Luke De La Rue and Dr Scott Taylor, and Nurses Ebony, Sarah, and Kelsey.

The season premiere will see Royal Melbourne Emergency’s Dr Emma call in reinforcements to save a mother whose life hangs in the balance after a high-speed car crash on a country road.

Meanwhile, Dr Mya and Nurse Ebony brace themselves as paramedics bring in a volatile man putting himself and staff at risk.

This season of Emergency has been produced by Channel 9 by WTFN.

It’s the first of several new shows to premiere in the 9:00pm time slot for Nine this week, followed on Tuesday night by Weakest Link.

Weakest returns to Australian screens for the first time since 2002, this time with comedian and actor Magda Szubanski as its host.
