Seek uses pink smoke as visual metaphor in ‘Be Seen with Seek’ campaign
Employment marketplace Seek has created a campaign which uses pink smoke as a visual metaphor for how the platform makes employers and employees more visible.
Created by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, the television ad aims to show the ways in which Seek connects the right candidates to the right jobs.
The campaign will run across TV, outdoor, online, social and radio.
During the TV ad a puff of pink smoke follows a woman around until she is spotted by a new employer.
The campaign promotes Seek Profile, a career advice platform, which also hosts various blog posts about finding desirable job opportunities.
Jenn ten Seldam, managing director at Seek, said in a statement: “Seek Profile gives us amazing insight into a candidate’s experience, skills and aspirations, which allows SEEK to deliver the most relevant opportunities into their inbox.”
Carmela Soares, ECD at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, added: “This is one of those ideas that is so simple its perfect. Or so perfect it’s simple. Everything is right there – message, product, brand – shaped for a seamless world of horizontal and vertical screens.”

Looks like a monumental fart. What were they thinking?!
“Seek and you shall fart”?

At the risk of sounding like a complete pedant, why do brands insist on posting their comms on public platforms, like youtube, with them titled in industry jargon?
What the hell is “SEEK Profile | Be Seen TVC 30″ (watermark)”, other than a clear indication the client and agency had a disagreement over whether the watermark was necessary?
PS. I quite like the spot. But then again, I find fart jokes funny.
