Sefiani appoints new head of editorial content with a global remit

After being acquired by US firm Clarity Global Group last month, Sefiani has welcomed Alice Spraggon as its new head of editorial content, digital marketing.

The global role will see Spraggon, who has previously worked in Clarity Group’s London office, work across the local and multi-market clients of Sefiani and Clarity Group.

Spraggon moved to Australia in 2021 to join Ogilvy PR’s Howorth Communications as client partner, after her three year stint with Clarity PR in London.

Founder of Sefiani, and newly appointed ANZ president and reputation counsel at Clarity Global, Robyn Sefiani, said: “This is an exciting senior appointment to Sefiani’s digital marketing and data analytics practice which, with the help of Clarity, we plan to grow at pace and at scale.

“We are delighted to welcome a colleague of Alice’s calibre. An added bonus is Alice’s familiarity with Clarity’s culture, people and processes, which will be enormously helpful as we move through the integration of Sefiani within the Clarity Global Group.”

Clarity Group president of digital marketing, Tom Telford, added: “Alice’s deep experience building digital marketing strategies and developing written content to position businesses and brands as thought leaders on cross-geographical digital campaigns, will be very appealing to Sefiani’s clients. It fits perfectly with our offer of round-the-clock service to our global clients. Not only that, it’s a great example of our ongoing commitment to creating career opportunities for our team members around the world.”

Commenting on her new role, Spraggon said, “I’m delighted to be joining Sefiani in this hybrid role and look forward to connecting the agency’s clients with Clarity’s outstanding digital marketing function. I’m also especially excited to be re-joining Clarity as it expands its footprint into Asia-Pacific and look forward to supporting its growth in the region.”

After 23 years of private ownership, Sefiani was last month wholly acquired by Clarity Global Group, and is set to continue to operate under the Sefiani brand, as part of the Clarity Global Group.

“I’m very focused on ensuring that we have a strong and sustainable future for the agency,” Robyn Sefiani told Mumbrella of the acquisition. “It’s business as usual, but better, because we now have access to digital and data capability… and a global presence.”

The sale came after a year of significant evolution for the agency in 2022, expanding its content and corporate and sustainability comms offerings, and more recently launching an employee communications practice.
