Seven and Nine equal first in overall TV share on Tuesday night

Seven’s The Chase Australia has won Tuesday night entertainment programming, as the network has come equal first in overall share with Nine Network, at 26.3%.

The Chase Australia brought in 567,000 metro viewers for Seven.

Overall, news programs dominated viewership once again, as Seven News retained the #1 spot on Tuesday, with 969,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 905,000, Nine News with 816,000 and Nine News at 6:30 with 804,000.

Nine’s A Current Affair had 650,000 and ABC News had 563,000.

Back to entertainment, Seven’s Home and Away aired to 487,000 metro viewers, while Ten’s MasterChef Australia was close behind with 472,000. Nine’s The Summit aired to 395,000 metro viewers, and Ten’s The Cheap Seats to just 384,000.

As mentioned, Seven and Nine Network tied in overall share with 26.3%, while Network 10 had 19.4% and ABC had 17.3%.

The top rated primary channel was Nine, with 18.6% overall share, with Seven slightly behind at 18.3%. 7Two remained the top rated multichannel at 3.4%, with 9Gem at 3.0%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated  7 Total TV Report for 16 May, Seven News remained as the #1 program with a Total TV audience of 1.531 million, a 3% uplift and 47,000 on BVOD.

Seven’s The Rookie: Feds had the biggest uplift of 46%, with a Total TV audience of 334,000 and BVOD audience of 33,000.
