Seven launches ‘festive behind-the-scenes’ Home and Away series

Seven is leaning into the festive spirit for Home and Away this year, announcing the launch of a 7plus exclusive series which takes a ‘festive behind-the-scenes’ look at the Australian soap.

Home And Away: Christmas In Summer Bay will air new episodes on the streaming service every week in December, with the first one available this week.

Series regulars Ray Meagher, Georgie Parker, Lynne McGranger, Ada Nicodemou and Emily Symons will all take part in the series, and Seven promises many more favourite cast members will appear in the specials.

The host will be Jason Smith – who played Robbie Hunter in the soap from 2003 to 2006 – who returns to take part in the series. Smith also hosts The Home and Away Podcast for Seven.

An announcement for the series promised ‘never-before-seen interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, nostalgic clips and tours of some of the show’s iconic locations’. The show will also feature hints about 2020’s series of Home and Away.

Home and Away wraps up its 2019 season on Wednesday November 27. The show has run since January 17, 1988 for a total of 32 seasons. It has also been sold to over eighty countries around the world.

The show still delivers consistent ratings for Seven, and has been the most-watched entertainment program on several nights in 2019.

Home And Away: Christmas In Summer Bay episode one is available for streaming now with new episodes every Tuesday in December.
