Seven rules the week with House Rules

The Seven Network has won the week on the back of a string of strong performances from House Rules, while Nine managed to deliver the top rating non-news show of the week.

Two episodes of the renovation show managed to top the magic million viewer mark, with the Sunday edition attracting 1.049m and Monday drawing 1.026m.

However, it was left to Nine’s The Voice to take the overall honours with the Sunday show topping out at 1.062m.

Seven’s strong run with House Rules on Tuesday and Wednesday helped get the network over the line with a share of 20.9% for the week, comfortably ahead of Nine on 18.6%.

Ten’s week, with Masterchef carrying the network’s hopes, ended with a share of 13.8% ahead of the ABC on 11.6%.

Masterchef’s Monday show was the highest rating show of the week for Ten with 936,000, while the Tuesday show attracted 900,000 and Thursday 879,000.

Seven and Nine dominated the top 10 shows of the week with News, House Rules and The Voice.

Over the weekend Friday saw Better Homes and Gardens take the top general entertainment slot for Seven with 628,000.

Seven’s AFL coverage of the Hawks versus the Swans in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide drew 442,000, while Nine’s Friday night NRL game between Parramatta and South Sydney broadcast in Sydney and Brisbane drew 390,000.

Ten had a strong night with The Living Room attracting 513,000 and The Project at 7pm 487,000.

Seven won the night with a share of 21.7%, ahead of Nine on 16.6% and Ten 11.5%

As ever, Saturday was owned by the ABC with The Coroner at 7.30 watched by 691,000 and Delicious at 8.15pm pulling an audience of 678,000.

Seven’s news at 6pm was the top rating show of the night with 838,000, while the AFL fixture between Richmond and Essendon in Melbourne and Adelaide drew 547,000.

While the ABC had the top shows, Seven dominated the night with 23.4% ahead of the ABC with 15%, Nine with 12.7%, Ten with 7.5% and SBS with 4.3%.
