Seven, SBS and MTV lead the promo awards
The Seven Network has emerged as the biggest local winner in international awards for the best TV promos.
The network won 16 awards at the Promax|BDA Awards in New York, with MTV Australia and SBS each receiving nine.
Seven was awarded three gold, six silver and seven bronzes in the promotion & marketing category, with six of the 16 coming in radio. It swept the board in the category of content marketing using radio: promotion for program/series. Each award in the category went to the network for the promotion of Dirty Sexy Money, Make Me a Supermodel and Packed to the Rafters.
Meanwhile, MTV Australia won the most Australian golds with a total of seven, mainly around its rebrand. (Pictured)
SBS’ nine awards were spread across both the design, and the promotion & marketing categories. It received two golds in outdoor categories for its promotion of the Tour de France in Melbourne’s Federation Square. (pictured).
A silver was also awarded to the network for its stunt promotion for Top Gear Australia.
Nine and ten didn’t feature in the awards.
