Seven secures Oscars through to 2028
Announced on Wednesday morning, The Seven Network has extended its agreement to broadcast the Oscars for a further three years in Australia, covering the 2026, 2027, and 2028 ceremonies.
The deal will see the Oscars air live and exclusively on Seven and 7plus, with an encore screening in prime time.
“Since 1929, the Oscars have recognised excellence in cinematic achievements,” said Seven’s managing director of television, Angus Ross.

“We’re particularly excited to be the local partner for the celebration of the 100th Oscars in 2028, which will be an amazing event.”
This year’s Oscars will be held on March 2, with Seven’s coverage starting bright and early, at 5.30am AEDT on Monday March 3, with Sunrise and The Morning Show, leading into the red carpet action from 10.30am AEDT followed by the 97th Oscars ceremony at 11.00am AEDT.
