Seven seeks new faces for TV pilot

Seven is turning to the public to find new stars for what may turn out to be a new travel show.

There’s a message from the network on the website of TV casting specialists A Cast Of Thousands. It says:

“If you’re gutsy, talented, outgoing, love travel and reckon you have what it takes to write, star in, shoot & edit your own original and hugely entertaining short films or videos.

“We’re searching for teams (two people per team) of creative, fearless filmmakers to seek out the best stories never told. You will need to know how to tell stories creatively as well as shoot and cut your own videos and be able to work to strict deadlines.”

It concludes: “Stardom, industry recognition and large cash prizes could await.”

Would-be presenters have until October 2 to upload a two minute video to YouTube.

A Cast Of Thousands was responsible for recruiting the contestants for Ten’s Masterchef, and also The Apprentice, which launches on Nine on Monday.

The move by Seven follows a similar one by broadcaster Andrew Denton to find newcomers to television. The result, featuring 19 fresh faces, debuts as Hungry Beast on the ABC next week.
