Seven signs broadcast deal with Australian Shopping Network for new channel

A broadcast deal between Seven and the Australian Shopping Network means a new channel, Openshop, will launch on August 1.

Broadcasting to channel 75, Openshop will focus on beauty, jewellery, fashion, technology, home and health, offering viewers 24/7 shopping with free express delivery.

Openshop is owned by Korean-owned Hyundai Home Shopping and will mean Seven Network is now broadcasting seven channels.

The channel will initially transmit to all state capital cities and regional Queensland, before being expanded across the country in 2020.

Openshop managing director Jason Kim said: “Our busy work and personal lives often mean we can’t get to the shops between 9 to 5. So, we’ve created an experience that makes shopping from home, even easier and more enjoyable.

“We are so excited to be launching. It’s an advanced, digital-ready economy, that is showing huge growth in online shopping. We look forward to making an impact in a very competitive market.”

Justine Diana, Zac Deane, Carla King-Turner, Nikki Vincent, Gabby Berry and Steven Milne will be the presenters on the new channel, which will join Spree TV and TVSN in the free-to-air shopping channel division.
