Seven takes Sunday night, celebrates 5th consecutive weekly win

Celebrity Apprentice Australia – Boardroom was the top rating entertainment program across the five metro markets on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough to deliver a win for Nine with Seven taking the evening.

The Boardroom brought in 777,000 metro viewers for Nine, as former Australian Idol contestant Anthony Callea was fired from the show by Lord Sugar, while 691,000 metro viewers watched the full episode.

Seven’s primetime offering, 7News Spotlight: The Phenomenon, a UFO cover-up investigation, brought in 759,000 metro viewers, but it was the #1 primetime program nationally with 1.225 million, ahead of Celebrity Apprentice on 1.005 million.

Seven’s nightly win was also helped by the performances of Seven News with 1.179 million metro viewers (1.785m nationally), which was the top rating program overall across metro markets.

Seven’s AFL: Sunday Afternoon Football had 484,000 metro viewers. That left the network with a 29.9% share win, ahead of Nine’s 28.6%, Ten’s 19.7% and ABC’s 14.0%.

Meanwhile, Nine’s Sunday Afternoon NRL Live aired to 289,000 metro viewers, while 1.135 million metro viewers watched Nine News Sunday and 518,000 metro viewers tuned into 60 Minutes.

Nine News also took out all three key advertising demos.

MasterChef Australia was watched by 624,000 metro viewers, and 586,000 watched The Sunday Project. 487,000 metro viewers took in Spicks And Specks on the ABC.

Seven also won Friday and Saturday night over the weekend, helping the network to its fifth successive weekly network share win. A 29.0% share was enough for Seven to beat Nine again, which held a 27.2% share.

Ten had an 18.7% share across the week, while the ABC had 16.6% and SBS took 8.4%.

Seven’s primary channel share was also #1, with 19.9% ahead of Nine’s 19.0%. The top rating multi-channel across last week was 10 Bold with a 3.8% single-channel share.
