Seven to revamp Weekend Sunrise
Seven is revamping its weekend breakfast show, with more focus on real life stories and “viewer engagement” set to feature in a new-look Weekend Sunrise to air next weekend.
All Stars opinion contributers Prue MacSween and Tim Ross, and US-based entertainment reporter Tomm Taylor, are to be scrapped. Hollywood gossip will also go.
Reporting the weather will include a social media element, with the best comments from Facebook and Twitter to be included as part of the segment.
The revamp has been instigated by Adam Boland, recently appointed as the show’s producer.
In an interview with The Spy Report, Boland said: “It’s time to kick default right in the guts. The show has a really strong team on and off air – I want them challenged every week, meaning the audience too will feel engaged.”
A Seven spokesman confirmed the accuracy of The Spy Report story.
Boland was recently embroiled with a legal action with his employer, but he dropped proceedings.
This is the ‘weekday’ Sunrise team, not ‘weekend’…?

I was comletely oblivious to the weekend sunrise changes. I am absolutely delighted if that means no more Andrew what’s his name. Unfortunately for the new producer, no show at all today…definitely doesn’t bode well. For what it’s worth, I tuned in for 15 mins waiting for the problem to be resolved, surfed to 9 a couple of times and was competely bored (except Michelle Mahone…she makes me laugh out loud). I turned the TV off and went back to bed wondering why I even bother watching these programs on a weekend.
