Seven West Media appoints chief commercial officer
Seven West Media has appointed Henry Tajer to the new role of chief commercial officer, effective January 28.
In the new role, Tajer will “collaborate with key partners, including clients, media agencies and industry bodies to drive growth and strengthen SWM’s market position”.
Reporting to CEO Jeff Howard, Tajer will be responsible for leading and driving all Seven revenue operation, and will work closely with the wider SWM executive team.

Tajer is a talent, but there’s no doubt he’s had some questionable practices over the years. Does this move the industry forward from the days of arbitrage or entrench it? Time will tell. There’s no doubt there’s no better media negotiator in the business, but I’m just not sure that’s what media companies need to embrace a new digital landscape and future.
There will be many he has put off-side in his time and not impressed with this move, Not a lot of runs on the board of late. Time will only tell if the top brass at SWM made the right informed decision.
lol
There are certain names that just bring out the best in the Mumbrella comments section. Let’s see if they get posted.
Selected from the same swamp as the previous CEO
@Watching Closely – agreed, this smacks of the generals trying to win the last war.
Good luck Henry. The best margin guy in the business. Well done SWM!
You can’t aggressively negotiate if you are the one who needs the money. Time to get the popcorn out.
Barely had a job in 5 years.
Got rid of a guy that had 25 years experience within CH7 and sales as a whole.
Hires a journeyman, media agency exec.
Good luck to him.
@Watching closely – agreed, this appointment has the hallmarks of the generals trying to win the last war.
