Seven West Media COO Rohan Lund to depart

rohanlundSeven West Media’s chief operating officer Rohan Lund is to leave the company after just a year in the $1.1m role.

Lund was previously CEO of the company’s joint venture with Yahoo, Yahoo!7 and became COO in September last year.

Seven confirmed Lund was leaving but declined to comment further.

Mumbrella understands that Lund’s resignation followed the appointment of a new COO as part of a yet-to-be-announced restructure of the senior positions at the company which were flagged at the company’s ASX results day last month.

During the day investors were told of a $61.5m writedown in the value of Yahoo!7. During the financial year, Yahoo!7 decided to pull the plug on Spreets as a group buying site, two years after Lund led its acquisition for $40m.

Among the possible positions being touted for Lund are the vacant roles of NBN Co chief executive and Foxtel chief operating officer.

Earlier this month, The Australian reported Lund was one of a number of candidates being looked at to run NBN Co. while  the Financial Review has tipped Lund to replace Foxtel COO Peter Tonagh, who has moved to News Corp.
