Seven wins ratings week as Ten hits highest share in months

Seven has won the Sunday to Saturday ratings week with a 20.0% primary channel share, ahead of Nine’s 17.8%, and the ABC’s 13.3%.

Despite placing fourth with just a 10.7% audience share, it was Ten’s most successful week since early February, when the channel had an 11.6% share.

Seven’s highest weekly audience share so far this year is 22.5%

The most recent ratings week (Sunday 14 April to Saturday 20 April), and the upcoming one (Sunday 21 April to Saturday 27 April) both fall within the Easter non-ratings period. Ten’s highest weekly share during survey season this year was 10.2% for the week ending 9 March. For the week ending 6 April, it fell as low as 8.9%.

The best-performing multi-channel this week was Nine’s 9Go, which attracted 4.3% of the audience.

Despite this – and perhaps due to the Seven Network having four multi-channels to Nine’s three, and Ten’s two – Seven also won the ratings battle on a network level.

It had 30.0% of the audience, ahead of the Nine Network’s 27.2% and the ABC’s 18.6%. Network Ten had 16.4%.

SBS’ main channel had 5.4% for the week, and the network had 7.8%.

So far this calendar year, Seven has won four of the 16 ratings week. Three of these, however, have fallen outside of the official ratings period.

Nine has won 12 ratings week in total. Of the nine official ratings weeks (running from 10 February to 13 April), Nine has won eight of them.

The official ratings period resumes on the 28 April, and runs until 30 November.

The following graphic was compiled by Nine, based on OzTAM data. It excludes ABC and SBS viewing, meaning percentage numbers will not match the numbers referred to above.
