Seven wins Saturday night TV while Nine tops the ratings week

Seven managed a Saturday night television win as Seven News was the most-watched program of the evening with 831,000 metro viewers.

Weekend Sunrise was the second-most-watched program for the station as 293,000 viewers tuned in.

The AFL match on Saturday night between Carlton and Geelong pulled in 290,000 viewers across Melbourne and Adelaide.

Although Seven managed a Saturday night win, it finished second overall for the week with a 17.5% primetime audience share, behind Nine’s 24.0%.

Seven’s most-watched program for the week was its Sunday night news bulletin which grabbed 1.221m.

ABC finished in second for Saturday evening with an overall audience share of 16.0%.

ABC News was the most-watched show for the channel as 768,000 tuned in, ahead of Father Brown’s 756,000 and The Good Karma Hospital’s 653,000.

Gardening Australia averaged 417,000 metro viewers, while Agatha Raisin grabbed 359,000 metro viewers.

Nine came in a close third with a 15% Saturday share as Nine News obtained 769,000 metro viewers.

Ninja Warrior helped Nine to another weekly win

The channel’s airing of Back to the Future 3 saw 356,000 metro viewers watch the movie ahead of Getaway’s 321,000.

Despite finishing third in Saturday night television, Nine’s successes earlier in the week assisted its overall weekly win.

Nine’s Ninja Warrior held the top four spots in the most-watched programs of the week list, with its grand final and final stage pulling in 2.055m and 2.138m respectively.

Meanwhile Ten averaged a 9.0% audience share on Saturday with Ten Eyewitness News’ 299,000 viewers making it the station’s most-watched show for the night.

Ten had a 13.8% audience share for the ratings week as the Masterchef grand finale was the eighth-most-watched program for the week.

The episode saw 1.120m tune in.

SBS finished in fifth place on Saturday and for the week overall with a 5.4% daily share and 4.3% across the week. Digging for Britain’s Secrets was its most-popular Saturday show with 183,000 metro viewers.
