Seven wins Sunday while Sunrise eats Today for breakfast
It was Seven’s Sunday in the TV ratings, with the network pulling in the top three shows and its breakfast lineup winning by a margin it could only dream of on weekdays.
Seven News, with nearly 1.5m viewers, was the most watched show of Sunday night, according to preliminary ratings from OzTam.
Meanwhile Nine’s sci-fi miniseries V made a solid enough debut with nearly 1.3m viewers.
And while Nine’s weekday Today show has been breathing down Sunrise’s neck, particularly while the Olympics was on, there was no contest on Sunday.
Weekend Sunrise rated an average of 451,000 viewers, well ahead of Weekend Today’s 229,000.
Sunrise even won convincingly in the Today stronghold of flood-hit Melbourne, by 134,000 viewers to 53,000.
