Bachelor in Paradise premiered to 553,000 viewers

Ten’s Bachelor in Paradise premiered to 553,000 metro viewers, down from 750,000 last year although 2018’s first episode aired on a Sunday. The show ranked as most watched in all three age key demographics – 16-39, 18-49 and 25 – 54. Between 7.30pm and 8pm it was beaten by Nine, Seven and ABC, but for the latter part of the program it overtook both Nine and ABC.

Ten’s head of programming Daniel Monaghan said the network was thrilled with the performance.

“Bachelor In Paradise is back and we’re thrilled to return as the #1 show in under 50s for the night. It was also #1 in every key demo. Once again, it fulfilled its promise to be the noisiest show on social media [at time of broadcast], trending #1 in Australia and #5 worldwide,” said Monaghan.

Seven won the news with 1.055m metro viewers and My Kitchen Rules was the most watched entertainment show with 854,000. Nine News brought in 907,000 metro viewers and The Big Bang Theory was the network’s highest watched non-news show with 571,000.

In the secondary channels, 10 Bold and 9Gem both held top position with 3.7%. SBS took 5.8% and 8.4% at a network level.
