Seven wins week despite success of The Voice and Masterchef

Channel Seven has won the week ahead of competitors Nine and Ten, with an overall prime time commercial share of 38.8%.

Nine’s overall prime time share was 34.3% and Ten managed 26.9%.

The AFL assisted Channel Seven’s win, with 476,000 metro viewers watching the AFL match between Collingwood and Hawthorn across Melbourne and Adelaide on Saturday night.

On Friday night, the AFL attracted 515,000 metro viewers across the two cities.

Seven News was the most-watched program of Saturday night, with 879,000 metro viewers and 412,000 regional viewers.

Nine news was the second-most-watched show for metro audiences at 747,000 viewers.

ABC’s The Coroner, which aired at 7:30pm, was the most-watched non-news program in the combined metro and regional markets, with 1.126m viewers.

The AFL placed 7th in the combined ratings, with 608,000 total viewers across Victoria and South Australia.

Seven had three shows in the top 10 this week, with Seven News Sunday the most-watched show, attracting 1.130m metro viewers.

Nine’s The Voice was the most-watched non-news program of the week, with 1.106m and 1.053m metro viewers across Sunday and Monday.

The Voice was in the top three programs for Grocery Buyers, and was in the top 10 shows for the 25-54s and 16-39s.

Ten dominated 16-39s with Have You Been Paying Attention taking out the top spot with 337,000 metro viewers across the demographic tuning in. Masterchef’s Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday episodes were also among the most-watched programs in 16-39s, attracting 321,000, 298,000 and 283,000 metro viewers respectively.

Masterchef was also the most-watched show for grocery buyers and the 25-54s.
