Seven Year Switch holds steady as The Voice loses viewers to Masterchef

Reality TV dominated the evening with Nine’s The Voice dropping to 1.214m metro viewers last night in the 7:30pm time slot, as Ten’s Masterchef grew to 1.029m viewers, recouping losses from Monday evening’s show which had a series low of 850,000 viewers.

Both left Seven’s House Rules in their dust, with the renovation show managing 729,000 viewers in the capitals.

Masterchef proved most popular amongst 16-39 and 18-49 demographics while The Voice topped the 25-54 tables.

The singing show’s mass was enough to give Nine a win in the overall ratings share with 21.7%, ahead of Seven’s 18.5% and Ten on 17.4%.

Seven Year Switch was also the most time shifted show of last week with an extra 159,000 viewers playing catch up, taking its audience to 979,000.

Seven News and Nine News tied at 6:00pm with 1,108m viewers each, with Nine holding up better at 6:30pm holding 1.062m viewers compared with Seven’s 1.012m for its news and Today Tonight offering.
