Property porn helps Nine win the night with Unreal Estate premiere topping 800 Words

Nine’s new show looking at some of the most lavish homes in Australia, Unreal Estate, topped its timeslot last night pulling in 699,000 viewers and beating 800 Words.

While Seven’s local drama 800 Words boosted its audience by more than 100,000 viewers last night, pulling in 695,000 metro viewers at 8:45pm compared with last week’s audience of 592,000, it could not compete with Nine’s real estate offering.

 

Earlier in the evening, Nine’s The Block was the most-watched non-news program of the evening, grabbing 933,000 metro viewers at 7:30pm.

It was also the most-watched show across the key-advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54).

The Block easily out-rated Seven’s Zumbo’s Just Desserts, which was watched by 762,000, while both shows beat Ten’s Australian Survivor, which had an audience of 691,000.

Nine managed to win the night with an audience share of 20.5% while Seven grabbed a share of 19.7% and Ten settled for third with a share of 14.1%. The ABC achieved a share of 11.8%.

In the news battleground, Seven News at 6:00pm had an audience of 1.179m, slipping to 1.167m from 6:30pm. Nine News at 6:00pm pulled in 982,000, growing to 999,000 from 6:30pm.

Nine’s A Current Affair at 7:00pm was watched by 884,000, beating Seven’s Home and Away, which at the same time had an audience of 774,000.
