Agents of Shield gives Seven third straight win this week

Channel Seven’s premiere of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D had 1.3m viewers last night marking the third night in a row Seven has launched a show and won the largest audience for it.

The high action drama ran two episodes back to back, with the pilot at 7.30pm followed by a second episode at 8.30pm. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D was also the top program in people 25-54 as well as people under 55.

Seven has had a strong start to its new weekday primetime schedule with the first episode of The Blacklist winning 1.596m viewers on Monday night, and the first episode of Dancing with the Stars taking 1.331m on Wednesday.

Second in the 7.30pm timeslot was Channel Nine’s Big Brother eviction which had 818,000 total metro viewers and was third in people 25-54, and second in under 55’s. The show featured the live eviction of the twins and brought back former housemate Tully, a social media strategist at DDB, to answer questions from social media.

ABC1’s Gruen Planet on at 8.30pm lost viewers on previous weeks scoring 784,000 last night. The panel show hosted by Wil Anderson, featuring Channel Ten executive general manager Russel Howcroft and Leo Burnett CEO Todd Sampson was 11th in people 25-54 and 13th in under 55s.

The Bachelor on Channel Ten had 585,000 viewers at 7.30pm, ranking it fourth in its timeslot behind Agents of Shield, Big Brother and the ABC’s 7.30pm. The Bachelor, in which women compete for the affections of Bondi chiropractor Tim Robards, was eighth in people 25-54 and eight in under 55s. The Bachelor was also the top show in its timeslot among women 16 to 39.

Ten’s Sydney beach drama series Wonderland on at 8.30pm was also fourth in its timeslot as it had 543,000 total viewers behind Channel Seven, ABC1, and Channel Nine’s screening of the feature film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part two. The show did slightly better in people 25-54 where it was seventh for the night and it was seventh in people under 55.

Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery on ABC1 had 558,000 total metro viewers.

Channel Nine’s evening game show Hot Seat had more viewers than Seven’s new show Million Dollar Minute last night, as Hot Seat had 585,000 total viewers while Million Dollar Minute had 508,000.

Seven’s morning show Sunrise beat Today in the morning battle as Sunrise had 342,000 total viewers while Today had 317,000.

Seven won the night with 23.4 per cent of the audience share. Channel Nine had 19.2 per cent of the audience, while ABC1 had 12.9 per cent and Ten had 11.8 per cent.
