Seven’s broadcast of The Ashes tops programs and all key demos

Seven’s broadcast of The Ashes has topped programs for Thursday with Seven also taking the largest audience share.

The broadcast of the second Test’s day one session three also topped the three demographics of 16 to 39, 18 to 49 and 25 to 54.

Seven’s The Ashes second Test day one session three topped programs with 787,000 metro viewers. Next in entertainment was the broadcast of the second session with 583,000 metro viewers, then the dinner broadcast with 501,000 metro viewers. Next was the first session for The Ashes with 426,000 metro viewers.

Overall, Seven News was second with 771,000 metro viewers.

Next was Nine News with 754,000 metro viewers, then Nine News 6.30 with 726,000 metro viewers.

Seven News at 6.30 had 713,000 metro viewers next.

Nine’s A Current Affair came next with 541,000 metro viewers.

ABC News was next with 514,000 metro viewers.

For share, as mentioned, Seven had the largest audience share with 37.7%, followed by Nine with 26.5%. ABC had 15.6%, then Ten with 13.9%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 9 December, Seven News at 6.30 was the #1 program nationally across linear with 876,000 viewers including 20,000 on national BVOD and an uplift of 3%.

The program with the biggest uplift in the top 20 was an episode of Paramedics on Nine, which had a 11% uplift on overnight figures, with a total of 334,000 viewers overall and a national BVOD audience of 9,000.
