Seven’s Home And Away trumps entertainment 2 nights in a row

Seven dominated TV ratings in both news and entertainment on Thursday evening, although Nine just pipped it overall for a network win.

Seven’s Home And Away was the top-rating entertainment program on a quiet Thursday night, bringing in an average of 625,000 metro viewers while Wednesday saw the soap pull in 690,000 metro viewers, making it the top-rated entertainment program two nights in a row.

The second-best performer in prime time was Seven’s The Chase Australia with a metro audience of 611,000, followed by a late session of Home And Away with 546,000 metro viewers for Seven.

Ten’s The Project brought in an average of 529,000 metro viewers, followed closely by Nine’s Hot Seat with 514,000 metro viewers, while Ten’s The Bachelor slumped with 487,000 metro viewers, however it was #1 position in 16-39 advertising demos.

ABC’s Foreign Correspondent brought in a metro audience of 443,000.

Seven News was the top-rating news program overall with 1.151 million metro viewers, followed by Seven’s 6:30 News with 1.103 million metro viewers.

Nine News followed closely behind pulling in 1.058 million metro viewers, and the network’s 6:30pm News with an audience of 976,000 across metro markets. Nine News also took #1 position in 18-49, and 25-54 advertising demos.

Nine’s Thursday night NRL pulled in a metro audience of 381,000.

Nine won the night in the network share stakes, taking a 28.1% share ahead of Seven’s 27.9%, with Ten on 18% and ABC taking 12.1%.

The top-rating primary channel was Nine, while 7Two just pipped 10 Bold to be the #1 multi-channel with a share of 3.9%.
