Seven’s Olympics wrap ‘In Rio Today’ continues to dominate
Seven’s 2016 Rio Olympics coverage has continued to dominate TV, with its 7:00pm wrap In Rio Today the most-watched non-news program of Tuesday night, with a metro audience of 1.024m.
The evening coverage of the games, kicking off from 9:00pm, was watched by 853,000 with 548,000 sticking around for the late-night broadcast from 10:30pm.
Meanwhile, on Nine, A Current Affair at 7:00pm grabbed 831,000 metro viewers, while on Ten The Project at 6:30pm pulled in 459,000, growing to 572,000 from 7:00pm.
In the news battleground, Seven News at 6:00pm once again won, with a metro audience of 1.221m, slipping to 914,000 when it aired only across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Nine News at 6:00pm pulled in 963,000, growing to 993,000 from 6:30pm.
On the ABC, 7.30 was watched by 674,000, Catalyst at 8:00pm grabbed 594,000 and Forces of Nature with Brian Cox at 8:30pm attracted an audience of 558,000.
Seven easily won the night with an audience share of 26.9%, ahead of Nine’s share of 14%. The ABC claimed third place with a share of 12% while Ten settled for a share of 10.6%.
