Seven’s Take Me Out falls below 500,000 viewer mark

Seven’s new dating show Take Me Out fell below the 500,000 metro viewer mark last night, to 426,000.

The program, hosted by Joel Creasey, shed 77,000 viewers from last week, according to OzTAM’s preliminary overnight metro ratings.

Take Me Out fellow below 500,000, according to OzTAM’s overnight ratings

It was out-rated by Nine’s The Block and Ten’s Australian Survivor, which ran in the same time slot with metro audiences of 978,000 and 696,000 respectively.

Take Me Out also had a smaller audience than Seven’s drama, 800 Words, which immediately followed the show. 800 Words pulled in a metro audience of 506,000.

When taking into account the regional figures, Take Me Out rose to 630,000, while Nine’s The Block climbed to 1.407m and Ten’s Australian Survivor grabbed 913,0000 viewers.

But looking at the video player measurement (VPM) numbers, Seven has seen an increase in the audience for Take Me Out, with the first episode of the season currently sitting on a VPM rating of 103,000, beaten only by Ten’s Bachelor Australia and ABC’s Rake, according to the rolling 28-day consolidated figures.

In the later time slot, Nine’s True Story with Hamish & Andy took the lead, with a metro audience of 610,000. The first episode of an ABC expose into the case of convicted baby killer Keli Lane, achieved 560,000 metro viewers. Ten’s Bull, which ran from 9pm, averaged just 307,000 metro viewers.

However Seven had more luck with the 6pm news battle, beating Nine with a metro audience of 978,000 metro viewers. By comparison, Nine News’ total metro audience was 935,000.

But Nine cleaned up the key advertising demographics, the 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s, and won the evening with a 22.1% primary channel share. Seven finished with a 16.7% share, still beating Ten’s 13.6% and ABC’s 12.7%. SBS’ share was 5.2%.

When accounting for the multi-channels, Nine Network still won the night, leading with a 31.5% share of the evening’s audience. Seven Network achieved a 24.1% share and Network Ten’s share was 19.5%.
