Sheree Mutton, AWW’s beauty and health director set to depart

The Australian Women’s Weekly’s (AWW) beauty and health director, Sheree Mutton, is set to depart the company after more than three years to join the Daily Mail.

Mutton joined Bauer Xcel Media as online editor for The AWW in March 2014, before being appointed as beauty and health director for the title a year later.

She has also previously held roles at Collective Hub, Fairfax Media, and Reeton Media.

At the Daily Mail Australia, Mutton will lead the lifestyle team, as Femail editor, aiming to cover a range of women’s interest stories including real life, health and fitness, fashion, beauty, and food.

Commenting on her departure, Mutton said: “After a fantastic three and a half years at The Australian Women’s Weekly, I’m excited to be moving back into the digital space and heading up the lifestyle team at the largest English-language newspaper website in the world.”

Mutton’s departure comes three months after the departure of AWW’s editor in chief, Kim Doherty, who stepped down after just over a year to spend time with her family.

She was replaced by OK! Magazine’s editor in chief, Nicole Byers, who has been in her new role at The Australian Women’s Weekly for two months.

It also comes two months after the departure of Fiona Legdin, Bauer Media’s general manager for fashion, health and beauty.

Mutton commences her new role on October 16.
